ST. LOUIS (AP) - For the second time this week, a body has been pulled from the Mississippi River at St. Louis.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a towboat captain called the St. Louis Fire Department Wednesday night after spotting a body in the river, near the McKinley Bridge. Barges had to be moved to get to the body, which was recovered Thursday morning.

The victim has not been identified. Illinois State Police are investigating the death.

On Monday, the body of 33-year-old Jason Hayes of West Alton was pulled from the river in St. Louis. He had been missing for two days after his boat hit an unknown object.
