LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - In the first two days of classes, more than 100 students transferred from local charter schools back to the Lafayette Parish School System.

According to the school system, 93 students transferred from charter schools on the first day of school last Thursday. Another 12 transferred on Friday.

This is the second year of operation for three charter schools in Lafayette Parish.

Despite the transfers, charter officials tell The Advertiser () enrollment remains strong at all three schools. According to charter and state data, the three schools have their highest enrollments ever this month.
