NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (AP) - Visitors have a new way to enjoy Stewart State Forest in the Hudson Valley.

State environmental officials will lead a tour Thursday of a new 800-foot boardwalk and trail that crosses the natural area’s Great Swamp.

Stewart State Forest is made up of 6,700-acres of wetlands, fields and forest in the towns of New Windsor, Montgomery and Newburgh in Orange County.

The new boardwalk is designed to offer visitors views of the swamp and wildlife.
