NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) - A group of physicians at a northeast Nebraska hospital say they want two former colleagues reinstated to their jobs.

The Norfolk Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1NxZr9S ) about 50 physicians from Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk met privately Tuesday to discuss the exits this month of Dr. Chris Price and Dr. Joe Metcalf. Price resigned and Metcalf was fired.

Price and Metcalf say they lost their positions because they spoke out about patient care and hospital governance.

The newspaper reports the doctors on Tuesday organized symbolic votes of no confidence against hospital administrators and some board members.

Kelly Driscoll, senior vice president and chief operating officer of the hospital, tells the newspaper she was saddened by Tuesday’s votes. She says the hospital continues to offer to meet with staff through mediation.
