DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a man suspected in an Interstate 95 road-rage stabbing in South Florida earlier this week has turned himself in.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that 42-year-old Peter P. Whyte was charged Thursday with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief. The South Florida Sun Sentinel (https://goo.gl/2tIySn ) reports that he was booked into the Broward County Jail.

FHP says Whyte followed another car on Interstate 95 near Deerfield Beach Monday and then fought with a man in that other car when they stopped. Authorities say Whyte stabbed the other man and then fled the area.

The victim, who was recovering, told investigators that Whyte seemed to get mad when the victim’s girlfriend honked at Whyte.

Jail records didn’t list an attorney for Whyte.
