SHERIFF: DEPUTY CRITICALLY INJURED IN SHOOTOUT

The deputy was serving a search warrant as part of a prostitution sting at a home in Port St. John on Thursday when gunfire broke out. The man who opened fire was also injured.

10-YEAR-OLD GIRL BITTEN BY SHARK OFF JACKSONVILLE BEACH

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department says the girl was bit below her knee Wednesday afternoon, and that her injuries were not life-threatening.

Authorities say no one witnessed the incident at the land clearing firm on Thursday night and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate.
