CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A judge has ruled there is enough evidence for prosecutors to continue pursuing their case against a Cheyenne man accused of killing his girlfriend’s 6-month-old son.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (https://goo.gl/xWJnsM ) Laramie County Circuit Court Judge Antoinette Healy said Friday that 30-year-old Tyler Child’s involuntary manslaughter case will go to district court. Child’s attorney says the case should be dismissed because there is not enough hard evidence to support the allegations.

According to court documents, Child was taking care of his girlfriend’s children June 30 when he called 911 to report that the infant boy didn’t appear to be breathing. Investigators say the infant’s 3-year-old sister told them Child placed his hand over the baby’s mouth.

An autopsy ruled the boy’s death a homicide.
