LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky track and field coach Edrick Floréal will lead the U.S. men at the IAAF World Championships that also feature former Wildcat hurdler Kendra Harrison.

Floréal is coaching Team USA for the first time after assisting on the 2012 Olympic team that won six medals including two gold in London. He will also guide Harrison, who won the NCAA women’s 100-meter hurdles title and the silver medal at the U.S. championships to qualify for the worlds that run Saturday through Aug. 30 in Beijing, China.

Harrison, a Bowerman Award finalist who’s considered a medal contender, begins competing on Thursday.

Two-time NCAA women’s 200-meter champion Dezerea Bryant is in the 4x100 pool. Former Kentucky sprinter Rondel Sorrillo will compete for Trinidad and Tobago in the 100, 200 and 4x100.
