MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Consumer Direct is starting construction next month on the first building that will eventually make up the company’s Missoula headquarters.

The Missoulian reports (https://bit.ly/1U59fZ5) the $23 million Consumer Direct Grant Creek Campus will start with a four-story, 73,000-sqaure-foot building.

The Missoula Redevelopment Agency board voted to approve $630,000 in tax increment financing, which will next go before the city council for consideration.

An official with the consumer-directed health care company says the tax increment program is vital to jump-starting the project.

A $1.3 million bond has been proposed to fund improvements in a newly-formed urban renewal district. The plan partially benefits Consumer Direct by extending a road and bringing utilities and water to the site.
