DENVER (AP) - A man accused of running onto a ramp at Denver International Airport and trying to stop a departing airplane has a hearing scheduled for next month.

Court officials on Friday scheduled a Sept. 9 preliminary hearing for 58-year-old Marc Rehmar on charges of endangering public transportation and hindering public transportation.

Rehmar’s attorney, Katheryn Stimson, didn’t immediately respond to a phone call seeking comment.

Prosecutors say Rehmar pushed open an emergency exit on one of the airport’s concourses on Aug. 6 and tried to stop a United Airlines flight bound for Ohio as it was leaving the gate. An alarm sounded when the door opened. Police responded and arrested Rehmar.

Denver district attorney’s spokeswoman Lynn Kimbrough said Rehmar was headed to a high school reunion in Ohio and missed the flight.
