INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A member of an Indianapolis police SWAT team was injured after someone opened fire on officers with an assault rifle.

Police say one officer was treated and released at a hospital for a shrapnel wound to his left check following the incident Friday at a home on the city’s far east side. The shots were fired through a bedroom wall.

Police say the SWAT team did not return fire but detained the shooter and three other people inside the home. Their names haven’t been released, nor has that of the injured officer.

The SWAT Team was serving a narcotics search warrant at the time.

Police seized an assault rifle and suspected narcotics from the home.
