NEW IBERIA, La. (AP) - State police say a 31-year-old Jeanerette man has been arrested in the May 24 head-on collision that took the life of a Loreauville teen.

Master Trooper Brooks David said in news release King Ellis was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 90, and Jordan Prince, 18, was driving eastbound on U.S. 90 in the inside lane when they collided just before 2:45 a.m.

Prince was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner’s Office.

Ellis was treated at a hospital for severe injuries. He was booked Thursday into the Iberia Parish Jail on DWI, vehicular homicide and driving the wrong way on a one-way highway.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Ellis.
