ATLANTA (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after holding two children at gunpoint during a robbery in their suburban Atlanta apartment.

Cobb County District Attorney’s officials tell local media outlets on Friday that 35-year-old Herbert Maurice Belle of Stone Mountain, Georgia, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and cruelty to children. The April 2013 incident occurred inside an apartment in Marietta.

Prosecutors say Belle acknowledged that he and another man he knew as “Tony” went to purchase drugs at the apartment. A 17-year-old girl answered the door, informing both men her father wasn’t home.

Investigators say both men pulled out their handguns, forced their way into the apartment, and threatened the teen and her 8-year-old cousin. They say the men stole cash, cell phones and other items.
