NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed while they were playing with a gun in North Charleston.

Multiple media outlets reported police were called to the parking lot of a hotel around 6 p.m. Thursday.

Police spokesman Spencer Pryor told local media outlets that Deandre Michael is charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Pryor says the teens were in a car and the older teen was playing with a gun when it fired.

The victim’s name has not been released.

It was not clear if Michael has an attorney.

Pryor says the investigation is continuing.
