UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Pennsylvania State Police say a man jailed on charges he robbed a convenience store has confessed to 13 similar heists, all to feed his heroin habit.

Thirty-two-year-old William Hall, of Uniontown, has been charged in the Aug. 8 robbery at the Kwik Fill store in North Union Township.

But police expect to charge him in the other robberies from July 17 to Aug. 15, including a Shell gas station in Fairmont, West Virginia.

Most of the businesses targeted were convenience or gasoline stores, or dollar stores, though police say Hall acknowledged robbing a bar in German Township, in Fayette County, where he remained jailed unable to post $100,000 bond.

Hall’s public defender didn’t immediately return a call for comment Friday.
