RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The Richmond Police Department is welcoming 30 new officers to its force.

The new officers will graduate and be sworn-in on Friday.

The class includes a recruit from France and others from Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut and North Carolina. After 30 weeks of training at the Department’s Academy, the 111th Basic Recruit Class will immediately begin patrols, each assigned to a field training officer for the next eight weeks.
