GERMAN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say they’re continuing their search for an 81-year-old central New York man who has been missing for nearly a week.

State troopers say Friday that the effort to find Alfred Turshman involves aerial searches by members of the Civil Air Patrol using fixed-wing aircraft and ground searches by police and other agencies.

Police say Turshman was reported missing last Saturday afternoon. He lives in the Chenango County town of German and was last seen the previous afternoon in the neighboring Cortland County town of Cincinnatus.

Troopers say Turshman suffers from dementia.

Earlier searches for him in the rural area 40 miles southeast of Syracuse have involved troopers, state forest rangers and local emergency personnel.
