SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - After several months of holding steady, Utah’s unemployment rate grew slightly in July to 3.6 percent.

The number released by Utah’s Department of Workforce Services on Friday is a small uptick from June’s jobless rate of 3.5 percent.

The national unemployment rate hovered steady in July at 5.3 percent.

Utah’s Workforce Services Department says the state had about 59,000 new jobs in July than it did during the same month last year.
