NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a 29-year-old woman was killed when the door of the car she was riding in flew open and she was ejected onto a Brooklyn street.

Danielle Arronsen, of Brooklyn, was in the rear seat of an SUV when the accident occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

Police say she was ejected as the 35-year-old driver made a right turn onto Bay Ridge Parkway from 5th Avenue.

Officers who responded to the scene found the victim lying in the roadway with head trauma. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say the driver was taken into custody. Charges are pending.
