PITTSBURGH (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania say an 18-month-old girl killed in a fire in Pittsburgh died of burns and smoke inhalation.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office ruled the death of Nina Risher early Monday accidental.

Officials said the blaze in the Spring Hill section of the city was reported shortly after 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

Risher’s 2-year-old sister was taken to UPMC Mercy in critical condition but a relative said she had improved by Monday afternoon.

Seven other people were injured, most of them treated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
