ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police are investigating how a man’s body ended up in the Rio Grande but are awaiting autopsy results to determine if foul play was involved.

Police spokesman Tanner Tixier says a body was spotted in the river Sunday afternoon near the Central Avenue bridge. It was recovered by a police dive team and Office of the Medical Investigator staff.

Homicide detectives plan to work with medical investigators to determine how the death occurred and if it was criminal in nature.
