LOS ANGELES (AP) - An immigration lawyer says she was denied entry to a detention center in Southern California after participating in peaceful vigils at the site.

Attorneys on Tuesday sent a letter to Immigration and Customs Enforcement alleging that lawyer Christina Fialho was barred from meeting with prospective clients at a detention facility in Adelanto, California, after joining in demonstrations in August 2013 and May 2015.

Fialho is co-founder of an organization that encourages visitation to detained immigrants.

ICE says individuals who don’t meet visitation standards or misrepresent the purpose of their visit may be denied from detention centers.

The GEO Group, which runs the Adelanto facility, declined comment on the allegations.

Two attorneys in Texas recently alleged they were banned from a family detention center after ICE claimed they violated visitation standards.
