FARSON, Wyo. (AP) - Two men died when their vehicle collided with a semitractor-trailer on U.S. 191 about 11 miles north of Farson.

Wyoming Department of Transportation spokeswoman Stephanie Harsha tells the Rock Springs Rocket-Miner (https://bit.ly/1Ig1598 ) that the wreck occurred around 4 p.m. Monday.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol identified the victims as 23-year-old Alexander R. Greene, of Philadelphia, and 21-year-old Benjamin K. Darneille, of Rochester, Illinois.

The patrol says Greene was driving a 2011 Ford Escape northbound when the collision happened in the southbound lane.

Darneille was a passenger in Greene’s car.

Harsha says the collision was so violent the vehicles fused together.

The driver of the truck was treated and released from a Rock Springs hospital.

The patrol reported drug use and driver inattention are being investigated as factors in the crash.
