CHESAPEAKE, Va. (AP) - Chesapeake health officials say several women have been treated for post rabies exposure after they were attacked by a fox.

The Chesapeake Health Department tells media outlets that the attack occurred on Saturday in the Cedar Landing Estates neighborhood. Animal Control officers are searching for the fox.

The health department says officials are concerned that other people or pets might have been attacked by the fox, which might be rabid.

Residents are advised to not approach wild or stray animals.
