RAYSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - A man and his two children were found dead Thursday in their central Indiana home, authorities said.

Henry County Prosecutor Joseph Bergacs said Joseph Horn, 48, died from a gunshot wound. He said the children were a 5-year-old son and an 11-year-old daughter. It was not immediately clear how the children died.

“At this time there is no evidence of any suspects at large,” Bergacs said in a news release.

Officials from the sheriff’s department went to the home in the small community of Raysville, about 30 miles east of Indianapolis, on a welfare check after one of the children failed to arrive for classes. Deputies forced their way inside after seeing the boy on the floor through a window. They then found the bodies of the 11-year-old girl and their father.

Sheriff Richard McCorkle said the bodies were found in separate rooms.

Court documents said Horn’s wife filed for divorce Aug. 11 after 17 years of marriage and asked a court to grant her temporary custody of the children.

Neighbors said the family had lived in the home for about three months.
