ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A California man has been sentenced to more than two years in federal prison for heroin trafficking in New Mexico.

Federal prosecutors say 30-year-old Darmarvis Marquel Lee, of San Bernardino, received a 27-month prison term Wednesday followed by two years of supervised release.

Lee was arrested in August 2014 at an Albuquerque train station after a consensual search of his baggage by federal drug agents.

Authorities say they found two wrapped bundles containing more than two kilograms of heroin.

Lee subsequently was indicted and charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

He pleaded guilty in the case in May and admitted that he was paid $4,000 to transport and deliver the drug.
