TITUSVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Officials in central Florida have recovered human remains from the Indian River while searching for a missing Cessna.

The small plane went missing Wednesday during bad weather while on approach to Titusville’s Space Coast Regional Airport.

Florida Today (https://on.flatoday.com/1LDklFs ) reports authorities haven’t confirmed whether the remains are related to the crash.

The pilot was believed to be the only person on board the twin-engine plane, which left Orlando Executive Airport earlier Wednesday. Officials say contact with the plane was lost at 4:26 p.m.

Cpl. Dave Jacobs of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office says officials convened early Thursday to come up with a search plan. He says the search area is fairly wide.

Wednesday night search units spotted some debris in the NASA Causeway.

No further details were immediately available.
