NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (AP) - The new owner of a popular downtown Northampton store says she plans to open a small cafe at the site.

Owner Camile Hannoush says Faces will open a cafe on its top floor with a menu of salads, sandwiches, appetizers, desserts and specialty coffees and teas within the next few weeks.

Hannoush, who bought Faces from former owner Peter Vogel in May, tells The Republican (https://bit.ly/1fIpQUI ) she wants to serve the roughly 1,000 people per day who visit the store, which sells an eclectic mix of gifts, pop culture items, hats and clothing.

The original Faces opened in Amherst in 1971. The Northampton store opened in 1986. The Amherst store closed in 1991.
