CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - An inmate will spend an additional two years in prison after pleading guilty to an escape charge.

The Exponent Telegram (https://bit.ly/1firrS1 ) reports that 30-year-old Douglas N. Kidd IIII was sentenced on Wednesday following his plea.

Kidd was serving a one- to five-year sentence on a Kanawha County drug charge when he scaled a fence and escaped from the Salem Correctional Center on May 15. He was captured the next day in Salem when he asked an off-duty correctional officer for a cigarette.

He has since been moved to Huttonsville Correctional Center. He will being serving his new sentence once he completes his original term.
