PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) - A Raleigh County has been found guilty of his wife’s 2014 death.

Multiple media outlets report a Mercer County jury found 61-year-old Johnnie Ray Farley guilty Wednesday of first-degree murder in the death of Lynette Denise Farley.

Police say Johnnie Farley reported his wife missing last September. He was arrested last October after her body was found buried on his farm near the Mercer and Raleigh county line.

Assistant prosecutor Kelli Harshbarger told the jury that Johnnie Farley had planned the murder and had confessed to killing his wife.

His attorney, Jay Williams, told the jury that his client’s marriage “was falling apart” and he had been under a great deal of stress, and that his wife had been seeing another man.
