MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - The city of Westover is being sued by the mother of a man killed in a 2014 shooting spree.

Brenda Kay Dusenbery’s lawsuit alleges that city workers gave the gunman information, assistance and encouragement so he could track and kill her son.

The Dominion Post (https://bit.ly/1hHRzXx ) reports that Dusenbery filed the lawsuit in Monongalia County Circuit Court.

Her son, 28-year-old Michael Frum, was among four people fatally shot by 39-year-old Jody Lee Hunt on Dec. 1, 2014. Police say Hunt then killed himself.

Dusenbery’s lawsuit alleges that Westover workers should have known Hunt’s criminal history and prior violent acts toward others. Hunt was a convicted felon with criminal records in West Virginia, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Westover City Attorney Tim Stranko declined to comment to the newspaper on the lawsuit.
