LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - An inmate at the Tippecanoe County Jail is accused of putting a nurse in a headlock and holding a pencil to her neck.

Forty-four-year-old Lisa Morehouse was charged Wednesday in the attack. Charges against her include criminal confinement while armed with a deadly weapon and strangulation.

A probable cause affidavit says the nurse was passing out medication Aug. 20 when she opened the door to Morehouse’s cell. Prosecutors say Morehouse threw a cup of water in the nurse’s face and wrapped her arm around her neck.

The affidavit says corrections officers freed the nurse and subdued Morehouse.

Court records say Morehouse has been assigned a public defender.
