RAYSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Authorities say two children found dead with their father in a central Indiana home also had been shot.

The Henry County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday that 5-year-old Thomas Horn and 11-year-old Corinne Horn both died from gunshot wounds.

Their father, 48-year-old Joseph Horn, also was found fatally shot at his home in Raysville, about 30 miles east of Indianapolis. An autopsy determined his wound was consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot.

Officers discovered the bodies Thursday morning after they were went to the home on a welfare check after the children didn’t arrive at school.

Court documents show Horn’s wife filed for divorce Aug. 11 after 17 years of marriage, and she asked for temporary custody of the children.
