SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Officials say two children were checked out at the New York State Fair’s infirmary after two roller coaster cars bumped into each other during a ride.

Troy Waffner, acting fair director, tells the Syracuse Post-Standard (https://bit.ly/1MTpAiQ ) he visited the children in the infirmary after the noontime incident Friday and talked to them. He said they were “shaken up a little.”

Waffner said two cars bumped into each other, apparently because of a combination of “minor mechanical error and a minor operator error.”

The ride, the Comet II, was shut down Friday afternoon.

Inspectors from the state Department of Labor and Department of Agriculture and Markets are investigating.
