BALTIMORE (AP) - Health officials say three cases of West Nile virus have been confirmed in Baltimore.

City Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen said in a news release on Friday that the infected patients lived in the 21224 and 21239 zip codes.

Health department employees are going door to door in those areas with educational material on preventing infection with West Nile virus, which is transmitted by mosquitoes.
