DOUGLAS, Ariz. (AP) - The Douglas Unified School District has closed all of its eight schools after receiving threatening phone calls.

The southern Arizona district announced the closure on Friday on its website and Facebook page.

The district closed after Douglas High School was put on lockdown on Thursday. Students were bused to one of the middle schools in the early afternoon.

The district didn’t list a reason for the closing and has not responded to request for comment. Local media have reported that a man left threatening messages at Douglas High School and at another school.
