DETROIT (AP) - Cookies and ice cream. A cycling studio. Caribbean food. Fine goods.
All are competing for a $50,000 prize Friday night in the annual Comerica Hatch Detroit contest, an opportunity for Detroit startup businesses to get a shot in the arm.
The finalists are Eskimo Jacks Artisan Cookies and Ice Cream, Live Cycle Delight, Norma G’s and The Royce Detroit. The entrepreneurs will have a final opportunity to promote their businesses to judges.
Hatch Detroit is a group that supports independent businesses in Detroit. A pie company, Sister Pie, was the 2014 winner.
