DETROIT (AP) - Detroit police say four teens have escaped from a halfway house on the city’s east side.

Police said in a news release that two of the teens who escaped Thursday night are 16 years old, and the other two are 17. According to police, a security worker was pushed down during the escape when he opened the front door for visiting ministers to leave.

The teens fled on foot in different directions on East Grand Boulevard. Police say they had been convicted of “various crimes.”
