LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A 29-year-old man who was walking home from a store in Little Rock after buying a birthday present for his brother was killed when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in a van.

Police say Ian Canham died after being struck shortly after noon Friday by a van that was crossing a convenience store parking lot. Police told reporters that the van has been found and a person of interest has been identified in the case, but no arrests have been made.

Canham’s mother - Catherine Canham - told reporters that her son was unable to drive because of epileptic seizures and was walking home with a birthday gift he had bought for his brother.
