SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Police say the driver of a UPS truck has been critically injured after a crash in Syracuse.

It happened just before 10 a.m. Saturday along Interstate 81.

Authorities say the driver was on his way from Pennsylvania to make a delivery at Syracuse Airport when he lost control of the tractor trailer.

The truck overturned and firefighters needed to pull the driver, 31-year-old Kyle Woodcock, from the cab.

Police say Woodcock was rushed to a hospital and was in critical condition late Saturday.

A portion of the highway remained closed for more than seven hours Saturday.

Representatives at UPS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
