ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) - A St. Cloud teenager has been placed on juvenile probation for fatally stabbing a 20-year-old man during a street fight.

The Stearns County Attorney’s office says the suspect, now 17, was sentenced Friday to juvenile probation until he’s 21. The St. Cloud Times reports Judge John Scherer ordered the teen sent to the Minnesota Correctional Facility at Red Wing.

The boy pleaded guilty to unintentional second-degree murder for stabbing Davee Moshea Devose of St. Cloud in June.

Chief Deputy County Attorney Matthew Quinn says the teen also could face an adult sentence if he violates probation.

Because the suspect is not a U.S. citizen, he could face deportation.

Police say the teen and three other males were walking by a house when a verbal exchange escalated to a fight.
