BALTIMORE (AP) - Corrections officials say 14 people, including eight corrections officers, were hurt during a melee at a pre-trial facility in Baltimore.

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services said the fight brought out late Sunday at the Baltimore Pre-Trial Complex after an argument between a detainee and an officer.

Officials say detainees refused to lock in to their dorms, attacked officers and other detainees, then barricaded themselves in the dorms.

The correctional officers and some detainees were treated and released at local hospitals.

Two dorms were still on lockdown Monday night The Baltimore Sun reported (bsun.md/1JI7jEm).

The Pre-Trial Complex was formerly known as the Metropolitan Transition Center. It recently received detainees from the crumbling and dangerous Baltimore City Detention Center, which Gov. Larry Hogan closed in August.
