BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Three Montana State football players have been suspended for the team’s season-opener on Thursday for a violation of team rules.

Coach Rob Ash announced that linebacker Blake Braun, safety Khari Garcia and cornerback Tre’von Strong will miss the game against Fort Lewis.

School officials did not say what the three did to break team rules or whether the incidents were related.

Braun is a redshirt sophomore, Garcia is a sophomore. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports Strong was expected to be one of only two or three freshmen to play this season.
