BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say a man and woman found dead in a van from apparent exposure to the environment in a remote desert location in the Lake Mead National Recreation area were from Golden Valley, Arizona.

The National Park Service in Boulder City said Tuesday that a person passing through the area discovered the bodies a little before 5 p.m. Sunday in the minivan stuck in the dirt on Salt Spring Wash Road.

That’s near Greggs Hideout, a scenic area off a 17-mile dirt road in the Temple Bar area of Lake Mead.

Mohave County sheriff’s spokeswoman Trish Carter says the names and causes of death won’t be made public until autopsies are complete.

Park Service rangers say two had little water, and the area has no cell phone coverage.
