MAXWELL, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say an Iowa woman accused of shooting her uncle in the ankle has been charged with attempted murder.

The Story County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Candace Mosley, of Ames, is being held at the local county jail on a $100,000 cash or surety bond. Court records do not list an attorney.

Mosley is accused of shooting her 66-year-old uncle on Monday at his home near Maxwell. The man was transported to a local hospital.

Authorities have not released additional information about the shooting. Mosley was taken into custody early Tuesday.
