TONOPAH, Ariz. (AP) - A California man has been arrested for allegedly driving a rental truck impaired and causing a rollover that injured himself and four others including three children.

Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the 52-year-old San Bernardino man was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated assault and criminal damage.

His name hasn’t been released.

DPS says all five occupants weren’t wearing seat belts. They were ejected from the truck when it rolled about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 10 near Tonopah west of Phoenix.

Authorities say the driver and a 29-year-old man were injured along with three juveniles - ages 3, 7 and 9.

Two of the children were airlifted to a Phoenix hospital and are in serious condition.

DPS believes the driver was impaired by drugs and alcohol.
