SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Another South Texas jailer has been arrested in an undercover drug investigation.

Bexar (bayr) County Sheriff’s Deputy Adrian Ambriz was arrested Tuesday evening on an evidence-tampering charge. Online records showed a bond-setting was pending. No attorney for the 34-year-old suspect was listed.

According to court documents, investigators accuse Ambriz of taking a cellphone home that was found during a security sweep of inmate cells last week.

Ambriz has been a sheriff’s deputy since December 2004.

Deputy Termaine Elliott, a fellow detention officer, was arrested Friday on bribery and drug possession charges. A Sheriff’s Office statement says the 22-year-old, who had been a deputy since February, was fired Tuesday.
