MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Gov. Peter Shumlin is calling the deaths of a father and daughter from Concord, Vermont, who were killed in the collapse of a circus tent “heartbreaking news.”

On Tuesday New Hampshire authorities identified the two people killed when the tent collapsed during a thunderstorm Monday as 41-year-old Robert Young and his 8-year-old daughter Annabelle.

At least 32 people were injured Monday when the storm passed through Lancaster, New Hampshire, where the circus act had just begun.

Shumlin, the father of two daughters, said he can’t imagine the pain and grief that “this tragedy has caused the family, friends, and loved ones of these two Vermonters.”

He said he’s asked Vermont Emergency Management to provide assistance and crisis counseling to Concord, a town of about 1,100, 15 miles west of Lancaster.
