MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say an escaped state inmate stole an all-terrain vehicle and led police on a chase before getting away.

WSFA-TV (https://bit.ly/1INtHeX ) reports that Crenshaw County sheriff’s officials believe 38-year-old escape Kevin Randolph Campbell took a four-wheeler Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff Mickey Powell says authorities pursued the vehicle at speeds up to 65 mph before the man got away.

Searchers are now looking for Campbell near Highland Home along U.S. 331 in Montgomery County.

Campbell is a work-release inmate who left a work site in Troy on Monday. He was convicted of burglary in Baldwin County.

Three inmates assigned to the Elba Work Release Center have fled since the weekend.
