CENTRAL, La. (AP) - One of the first governmental leaders of Central has been removed from his position. That’s according to Mayor Jr. Shelton.

Shelton let go his chief administrative officer, David Barrow, on Monday, but would not say what led to Barrow’s termination.

The mayor called it a personnel matter.

Shelton said Tuesday he informed Barrow that the city was going in a different direction.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1SKKo1c) Barrow did not return a request for comment.

Barrow has been one of the city’s leaders since Central’s first days as a city in 2005. Before working in Central government, Barrow was a teacher in the East Baton Rouge school system.
